Southern California Wing Presents The Utilities - Liaison Aircraft of WWII
(October 24, 2023, Camarillo, CA)- The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Southern California Wing at Camarillo Airport will conduct a Living History presentation called “The Utilities.” The presentation will highlight the unsung heroes and unheralded workhorses—The aircraft that played a pivotal role in the outcome of World War II. In many cases, utility and liaison aircraft served just as important roles as the front-line fighters and bombers.
This live event will focus on three noteworthy toilers: the Fairchild F-24 Argus, the North American L-17 Navion, and the Alon YO-55 Aircoupe. The presentation will cover notable aspects, the history of these remarkable aircraft, and their impact on the war effort. Attendees will also enjoy a unique opportunity to see inside the cockpits of CAF Sothern California Wing’s utility aircraft.
After the event, their docents will be available to answer questions about the exhibits and offer guided tours of their museum and other display aircraft, such as the Supermarine Spitfire and the F6F Hellcat.

About the CAF Southern California Wing:
The CAF Southern California Wing is a volunteer organization with members from many different backgrounds. The wing is dedicated to preserving the history of World War II aircraft for generations to come. This CAF location is assigned 12 authentic military aircraft maintained and operated by their volunteers.
