Rocky Mountain Wing Installs Engine on TBM

Grand Junction, Colorado (January 20, 2023) - This month the CAF Rocky Mountain Wing hung the engine on their assigned TBM Avenger ‘309’. Volunteers have been working hard to get the engine installed and their TBM back into the air. Installing a 1,900-pound engine is no easy feat and certainly not a one-person job. Volunteers planned thoughtfully to ensure the heavy and precious engine was carefully put into place on the airframe. They will get all the accessories hooked back up to the engine and run some tests. Their goal is to get the TBM 309 ready in time to participate in this year's airshow season.
