Remembering Women AirForce Service Pilot (WASP)-Bee Haydu
It is with great sadness that we inform everyone that Bernice "Bee" Haydu has passed. Together , we mourn the passing of a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She excelled as an aviator and was devoted to her friends and family. Bee was a role model and inspiration to so many during her life as a WWII pilot (WASP - Women's Air Force Service Pilot) and lifelong aviatrix. One of her greatest joys was meeting and making new friends while sharing her story. She loved her family, country, aviation and was always looking forward to her next adventure. The last year of Bee’s life was tough, but we want to let everyone know how much happiness all the letters, phone calls, emails, and gifts that were sent meant to Bee this past year. We know she was so loved by all of you and shall be missed. Although we grieve her loss, we will continue to carry on her legacy. Bee always said that when dealing with adversity, you should, "Follow your dreams and though there may be pitfalls along the way, you must just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and continue on your way." Blue Skies Always, In lieu of flowers please consider contributing to her favorite organizations. Mom was very active in the Ninety-Nines, Sweetwater WASP Museum, CAF Rise Above, The Boys and Girls Club.
