CAF Airbase Georgia Ron Corley Honored with Prestigious Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award

Peachtree City, GA (November 5, 2024) - The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is proud to announce that one of its own, Ron Corley from Airbase Georgia, has been awarded the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award. This esteemed recognition, named after Charles Taylor—the aviation pioneer who served as the Wright brothers’ mechanic and designed the engine for their groundbreaking aircraft—celebrates the exceptional achievements and commitment of senior mechanics who have dedicated over 50 years to aviation maintenance.

Receiving the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award is no small feat. To be eligible, recipients must hold a U.S. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) mechanic or repairman certificate and demonstrate at least 50 years of dedicated service in aviation maintenance. This experience can include a blend of civil and military work, spanning aircraft maintenance in the U.S. and abroad. Ron’s award is a testament to his lifetime of contributions and adherence to the highest standards in aviation safety and maintenance.
