CAF Warbird Tube – Kamikaze Airfields in Kyushu
Online Event (January 15, 2025, at 7 p.m. Central) - In this episode of CAF Warbird Tube, we explore the haunting legacy of the kamikaze airfields in Kyushu, Japan. These airfields served as the launch points for many of the kamikaze missions during the final months of World War II, where pilots made the ultimate sacrifice in a desperate bid to turn the tide of the war. Our special guest, Nathan Huegen, Vice President of Education at the Commemorative Air Force, will join us to discuss the history, strategy, and human stories of these airfields. Together, we’ll discuss their role in Japan’s war effort and the Allied response and how these sites remind us of the sacrifices and complexities of war
