More than just a warbird, this aircraft carries a rich local history connected to an extraordinary act of patriotism during World War II. In 1944, the people of Hanford, Washington, rallied together and donated a full day’s wages to fund a B-17 bomber, which became known as “Day’s Pay.” Today, the Day’s Pay Squadron continues this legacy, using the PT-23 to inspire new generations and share the story of community-driven dedication to the war effort.
