D-Day C-47 That’s All, Brother Tours Western US this Fall

(San Marcos, Texas, August 24, 2023) - The C-47A Skytrain troop transport named That’s All, Brother will have tour stops in Colorado, Utah, California, New Mexico, and Texas this Fall. Visitors can tour the interior at each tour stop and purchase rides on the authentically restored historic aircraft.
Aircrew leading tours and flights can answer questions and relay the exciting history of the aircraft. During the ground tours and living history flight experiences, visitors can learn about the aircraft’s military participation during World War II, including the critical role on D-Day, the three major systems that made this lead aircraft unique, the story of the aircraft’s restoration, and more.

About the C-47A *That’s All, Brother* That’s All, Brother was the C-47A troop carrier aircraft that led the main Airborne Invasion on D-Day, June 6, 1944, carrying 101st Airborne Division paratroopers into France during the D-Day invasion. The aircraft was named “That’s All, Brother” by the aircrew, who felt it was a fitting message to Adolf Hitler. Following D-Day, That’s All, Brother served in Operation Dragoon, Operation Market Garden, the Relief of Bastogne, and Operation Varsity. After the War, the aircraft was sold as surplus, and its contribution to history was almost forgotten. In 2015, the Commemorative Air Force rescued the aircraft from a boneyard, completed a lengthy restoration to get it flying, and returned it to its World War II configuration. The aircraft plans to return to Europe for the 80th anniversary of D-Day commemorations in June 2024 with the D-Day Squadron’s Legacy Tour.
