The CAF’s C-53D-Day Doll Takes Honor Flight at Force-Con 2022

San Diego, CA (September 24, 2022) - Over the weekend, the CAF Inland Empire Wing took the C-53D Skytrooper D-DAY DOLL to the first ever Force-Con in San Diego. On Saturday, D-Day Doll’s crew was honored to take a special skydiving flight with three VIP jumpers over Coronado Beach.

The VIP jumpers included: Vince Speranza, a World War II paratrooper, Willie Sharp, a former POW, Vietnam War veteran, and F8 pilot, and Jodi Martin, the granddaughter of the late World War II paratrooper Jim “Pee Wee” Martin.

Inland Empire Wing Leader Stephen Rose remarked that it was a tremendous honor to have these heroes onboard and for the Inland Empire Wing to participate in such a great event.
