D-Day Film Premiere to be held at National Museum of the U.S. Air Force June 4
Oxford, Connecticut – May 18, 2022– The Air Force Museum Foundation Living History Series invites you to the film premiere of “Into Flight Once More” on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. You will be one of the first to visit the WWII Traveling Memorial at the Museum and enjoy a VIP reception with our filmmakers, WWII veterans, and D-Day Squadron aircraft owners and crew members — who will give a presentation after the film.
The film, narrated by Gary Sinise, brings the history of June 6, 1944, to the present through the lens of one squadron and their epic recreation journey across the North Atlantic to Normandy for the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. Along the trip you meet some of the last remaining D-Day veterans and younger generations of men and women who have re-charted their path to honor their sacrifice and thank them for their service. At each stop on the journey from the United States to France the veterans reconnect with the planes that flew, provisioned, rescued, supported and meant so much to them during wartime. These honorable WWII men and women veterans reveal never before heard information as seeing these planes sparks memories held deep inside.
The journey will take you across the United States, and on to Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, England, and finally to France. You will learn the history and significance of these locations during wartime and the challenges that the crews faced in their mission to complete the journey. Directed by Adrienne Hall, and presented in partnership with D-Day Squadron and the DC-3 Society. For more information on the film visit intoflightoncemore.com.
