Helicopter Show at Airbase Arizona
Helicopter Show Spotlights Technology & History##
January 12, 2022, Mesa, Arizona - The Airbase Arizona Flying Museum will host its first-ever Helicopter Show that will exhibit over a dozen helicopters that represent 70 years of the history of rotary aircraft on Saturday January 15th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The special helicopter show is included in regular museum admission.
Helicopters appearing in the show will include the H-19 Chickasaw which was first introduced in 1949 for service in the Korean War, and several legendary helicopters from the Vietnam era including Huey gunship and other UH-1 types used for troop movement and rescue. A modern era Blackhawk will also appear from the National Guard. Other helicopter types will include Cobra, LUH Lakota, OH-6A, Bell 222 and TH55 Osage.
Regular admission is $15 per adult. Seniors, children and veteran admission are discounted and may be purchased online www.azcaf.org or at the door. Annual Pass holders are admitted free.
The museum is a well-ventilated and spacious indoor-outdoor facility with ample room for social distancing. All visitors who wish to wear masks may do so. It is located at 2017 N. Greenfield Rd., Mesa, AZ 85215 (northeast corner of McKellips & Greenfield intersection) telephone (480) 924-1940.
The Airbase Arizona Flying Museum, a unit of the world-wide Commemorative Air Force, has operated from Mesa, Arizona for over 44 years and is rated a top attraction by TripAdvisor. A non-profit organization, the museum provides exhibits and speaker programs, national tour program and living history flights as uniquely inspiring and educational experiences for young and old.
