WASP Supporters Seek Another Way to Say Thanks! After Annual WASP Homecoming Cancelled
Dallas, May 14, 2020- As all of us reach out to friends and family, during extended social distancing, would you also recognize the WASP, and all that they did for our country both in the time of war and by impacting the future of women in Aviation?
The WASP homecoming is an annual event held each May at the WASP training base, Avenger Field. Earlier this year the organizer, the National WWII WASP Museum made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event. Due to physical distancing many of the WASP may have been isolated for some time due to health reasons or other precautions.
In conjunction with the National WWII WASP Museum and the 99’s, the CAF WASP Squadron is requesting that people send thanks and greetings to the remaining WASP, especially those with important birthdays coming up. All of the surviving WASP are over 90 years old and could use a “thank you” or just greetings, especially since this year there will be no opportunity to attend the annual WASP Homecoming.
Send an email to media@cafhq.org with your message, and your note will be printed and mailed along with others, to the WASP of your choosing.
