CAF Aviation Education Resources Page Are a Much Needed Answer to the Call For Online Content

Dallas, March 27, 2020 - As educators and parents look to keep students occupied with meaningful activities, many have asked the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) for more and more resources. The CAF has been a source for World War II education for decades. Within the past decade, the organization has worked on innovative ways to make content and curriculum available to the public, while maintaining the “behind the ropes” feel the CAF proudly provides.

“I believe that students of all ages are more interested and more engaged when learning activities that are hands on,” said CAF VP of Education Nancy McGee. “One of the reasons I enjoy working for the CAF in their education program is the organization’s longstanding commitment to this concept. Since the 1960’s, the CAF has interacted with students by bringing history to life - through 4D education – when we began narrating the airshows. We provided a history lesson that no one forgot. And, it is still true today.”

In addition to the historic content, World War II also offers a very real, very practical way to talk about critical thinking and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). Our Education program includes events, community outreach programs, and online educational tools. Through our vast network of museums, locations, and events across the nation, we are able to reach a tremendous audience of people.

“One of my main responsibilities is to ensure the Commemorative Air Force provides excellence. I refer back to the mission of the CAF often,” said McGee. “The mission of the CAF is to Educate, Inspire, and Honor. Educate is number one.”
